Semiotics

Film poster - Warm Bodies

When looking at the image the audience can tell this a comedy horror and romance film.  Romance is clearly shown as the two main character are both gazing at each other passionately and the object in the man's hand are some flowers which symbolise affection between the two.  The colour of the poster is red which could relate to the blood and violence in the film, however, red could be associated with romance once again. The film text on the poster is also significant "He's still dead but he's getting warmer'.  This implication highlights that even though the male character is dead and he was similar to the other zombies he has become more like a normal human and gradually his humanity is returning, another point which supports this is his clothes are modern which makes him look almost ordinary however his pale, white skin shows that he is still going through the transformation from zombie to human.  In addition, the huge crowd of zombies in the background show the lack of uniqueness to them all, also as they are walking towards the audience this highlights the threat from the apocalypse.
